Who Said That?

Twelve drivers, twelve teams... One trophy...

Here are twelve quotes, each made this week by one of the twelve drivers in the 2010 NASCAR Chase. Can you pick what your favorite driver said?

1. I think it's the most competitive that we have ever been as far as speed and the things that you need to race for wins.

2. Tiger Woods is vulnerable; the Lakers are vulnerable; the Yankees are vulnerable; everybody is.

3. I really do believe going into Homestead, you are going to have three to six cars in a legit shot for the championship.

4. They are all tough. Every race is tough.

5. I can pick about three race tracks every driver is really, really good at.

6. It looks like advantages are smaller and they last a shorter period of time.

7. Man, it is a really close Chase, probably the closest.

8. You hate to sound like an idiot by saying you've just got to be better than the other 11 guys, but that's what it's going to come down to.

9. I don't see anybody running away with this Chase.

10. I always believed that the Chase is about consistency, not make any mistakes and most importantly, be competitive.

11. Yeah, maybe there's no clear-cut favorite right now, the way the past 26 races have gone.

12. I don't know how to handicap it or who to fear the most because everyone has it in them.

Here are the twelve who said such things: Clint Bowyer, Denny Hamlin, Greg Biffle, Jeff Burton, Jeff Gordon, Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, Kurt Busch, Matt Kenseth, Tony Stewart, Kyle Busch, and Carl Edwards.

Not an easy task. Good luck if you dare...

  1. 1. Jeff Gordon. He's way too optimistic lately.

    2. Kyle Busch. (Just short and sweet comments, then on to the next race!)

    3. Jimmie Johnson, trying to be modest?

    4. Matt Kenseth.

    5. Clint Bowyer. (So?)

    6. Denny Hamlin. (makes sense.)

    7. Jeff Burton. He's my age, almost, and our generation would start a sentence with 'Man.'

    8. Carl Edwards, because he is an idiot, but I think Tony Stewart said it.

    9. Kevin Harvick, being humble?

    10. Kurt Busch, the brain in the bunch, the only one who would use a sentence that long.

    11. Greg Biffle.

    12. Carl Edwards would like to 'handicap' someone, like the bully he is.

    They're all wrong, aren't they?LOL

  2. Too bad Dale Jarrett isn't one of the picks and sentences with the word "UNFORTUNATE" in it. DJ was constantly using that word!

  6. CR... I know this is tough. Zero out of four is not good...

I know, I know, I'd hate to try it. You and I would be in the same boat...

I think Athens did really good getting one out of four...

  16. Gene...

Oh brave one... LOL I watched a program a few months ago that followed a group of young drivers through the Roush driving school (Disbanded?) and a big part of it was how to act in front of interviewers... It's like the other sports with their canned set of answers to whatever a reporter might ask...

Many moons ago when I was a kid my Aunt and Uncle lived in the San Francisco bay area. We visited in the summer. It was REALLY something to see my favorite baseball team (SF Giants) on local television. The team won and Willie McCovey was interviewed afterward by long-time Giants announcer Lon Simmons. McCovey was very nervous to be on TV. No matter what the question posed to him was and no matter how hard Simmons would try to get another answer, all McCovey would say was "Well that's right Lon..." It was hilarious!

  18. Kristen & I matched on Tony and Kurt. Does that mean I could be a therapist, too?lol

    4. Matt Kenseth.
    8. Carl Edwards, because he is an idiot, but I think Tony Stewart said it.
    10. Kurt Busch, the brain in the bunch, the only one who would use a sentence that long.

    8. Tony Stewart
10 Kurt - better be or TR will kill me!

That was fun, Dwindy! We used to play these kinds of things on FOX with Hanny called OVER/UNDER until one day someone wanted to get UNDER Han!lol
