Bowyer’s Appeal Up In Smoke…

The three person appeal panel Richard Childress recently spoke highly of has confirmed NASCAR’s ruling and penalties levied on Richard’s 33 team. So much for sweet talk…

Now it appears Childress is going to take his appeal to the Supreme Court of NASCAR appeals, the chief appellate officer John Middlebrook. I understand that the ruling quotient in favor of the appealer in NASCAR runs right at 1 out of 3. I haven’t heard what the success rate is for those that lose the initial appeal and then turn to the higher arbiter but I’d be willing to bet it’s a lot worse than 1 out of 3.

Up In Smoke...

Like it or not, Bowyer is toast. Too bad what he and his team did or didn't do had to taint what was a very exciting and enjoyable race. A race won by the unlikeliest driver in the Chase. A race that seemingly was going to set the tone for a different outcome than the past four seasons have yielded. But no…

Now we’re all stuck in the doldrums. Jimmie’s knockin’ on the door once again, three tracks that he enjoys running on are in front of us and we’re all going to get to witness déjà vu all over again.

Let me just say this…

There he is! Take your best shot!

  1. I'm going on the record as a RCR supporter, and a NASCAR detractor. So be it!

  2. As a Busch brother supporter (guess that puts me in the Penske and Gibbs garages) I'm hoping that either the third or fourth place chaser can run a car they're happy with the rest of the chase and upset the juggernaut that is the 48... How will that happen? I don't wish ill on anyone... HA!

It's kind of refreshing for an organization (NASCAR) to make a decision and stick to it. If you listened exclusively to Richard Childress he actually made a compelling case on one issue but I don't think the whole story came out giving Richard a platform to stand on.

    Thanks CR

  3. I am a NASCAR detractor, also. But, Richard C is only telling one little piece (ala Mayfield) of the story. He is not helping his future credibility with me. Not that it matters, as 90% of the fans evidently believe anything he says.

  4. God I hope Kurt is in a position to take a shot at JJ when it really hurts the 48 and not the 2. Or even pay Bad Brad to be his hit man...Good to see someone else pulling for Kurt! Thanks Dwindy!

I agree with Gene - for some reason we are not getting the entire story here but can't really blame RC for trying this act. What else is supposed to do? Admit guilt? no way.

NASCAR had to have some good evidence to come down that hard, as much as I am a detractor as well. They are all over the technical aspects of the sport. If I could ever get a hold of my official buddy I'll get some scoop from his end.

  5. Gene I think Childress has lost some sway around NASCAR based on these penalties and how the appeal is turning out.

Like the scout told Custer... You go down there if you dare, but them ain't helpless women and children, they're Sioux and Cheyenne braves... You go down there!

You know what Custer did... and so it goes with Richard.

  6. Kristen, it's gonna happen just watch and see... JJ's got his four in a row and that's it. No Mas, Nada, Nothing, Zip, Zilch, Over, Done...

    Now who's steppin' up?

Gordon? Nope. Burton? An emphatic NOPE! Bowyer's cooked. Biffle? Not hardly... Kenseth? Edwards? Give me a break! (And the drivers dwindle down to a precious few)

I'm afraid if Tony doesn't get off his funk, and I mean right now, he's done...

Hamlin doesn't know when to shut up so now he looks vulnerable...

    So what's that leave us?

The three K's Kevin, Kurt and Kyle...

You like my process of elimination? West coast drivers all the way! At least that string will continue!

  7. Your reasoning seems sound to me Dwindy! Its the KKK! How fitting for NASCAR...! LOL!

BTW - this joke going around in KB circles...

A Kurt Busch fan, a Dale Jr fan and a Jimmie Johnson fan are climbing a mountain & arguing about who loves his driver more. The Junyer fan insists she is the most loyal. This is 4 Junior!! She yells, & jumps off the side of the mountain. Not to be outdone, the Kurt Busch fan is next to profess her love, she yells, "This is for Kurt!" & pushes the Jimmie fan off the mountain...

  8. Kristen... You got me there. It didn't even register (KKK)! That's bad, funny but bad...

Great Joke! I read something the other day about why JJ doesn't have the fans like other top drivers (including Grodon) have had. Interesting stuff. The author seemed to think that once his run has ended the people of NASCAR will look back and recognize it for what it is at that time...

    Hang in!

  9. Oh I actually like and respect JJ...but I thought the joke was pretty accurate from a KB fan!
